Tuesday 06m Walking Group - next 2 walks

16 Jun Leader Debbie Brown. Meet in the car park at Bagworth Heath Woods, off Heath Lane, LE67 1DL. What3words ///everybody.punctual.midfield
The walk is 6.6 miles with around 600 ft of ascent in four uphill sections so not all in go. There are 8 stiles, all in good condition and one rail crossing. The walk will go through Royal Tigers and Centenary Woods and then across some fields and around Thornton Reservoir and back through Bagworth Heath.
The paths are mostly good underfoot, however there was still a bit of mud in a few places and there was some sections of long grass/nettles/brambles so walking boots/long trousers recommended. There is currently one field with cows in though other fields could have cows. Lunch is not being organised.   SK

Thursday U3A 6-milers - next 3 walks

11 Jul Cliff Knowles is leading a walk from Keyham. This walk starting from "The Dog and Gun" pub in High Street Keyham, LE7 9JQ (What3Words:- drum.grand.picked).
Lunch is available and can be ordered before setting off on the walk. For those not staying for lunch, there is very limited on the road parking with a few places along Main Street.
The walk is 6 miles across a mixture of pasture, set aside and arable fields. There are about 15 stiles of varying quality and the land is "gently undulating" with some good views across Leicestershire.   SK669065
25 Jul Chris Ronald is teaming up with Karen Dayman (it is Karen’s walk but she has asked for someone else to lead it) for a walk from Melbourne.
The start is from the White Swan pub on Castle Street in Melbourne; (Postcode DE73 8DY and What3Words leathers.manual.flows).
Close to the start, on Castle Street, there is a small free public car park and there is also plenty of on street parking. Not far from the start the walk goes past the toilets near the Melbourne Hall tea rooms.
The walk then passes Melbourne Pool before heading across fields and passing the Johnny Vegas Glamping site! The route from there is undulating with about 4 stiles, crossing fields and a disused golf course. Hopefully not in late July but if it rains heavily it could be wet in certain places. On reaching Wilson, there will be a coffee break. The walk then returns to Melbourne via the Cloud Trail and other dry paths.
No lunch arranged but there are plenty of options in Melbourne.   SK388251
